Shrove Tuesday: Pancake Supper, February 25 from 5-7PM
Otherwise known as Fat Tuesday, this is the last day of the Epiphany season, an extension of the Christmas celebration. To prepare for the more somber, penitential season of Lent, it is tradition to purge our homes of fattening foods so Shrove Tuesday is a day to feast on fat things! The youth will be hosting a Shrove Tuesday pancake supper and Mardi Gras celebration on that evening. A short service based on the colors of Mardi Gras will be held as well.
Lent: Ash Wednesday Services, February 26 at 1PM & 7PM
Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 26. Again, this year there will be two options to attend this service. 1:00 pm and 7:00 pm. If you have not attended an Ash Wednesday service in the past, I would encourage you to begin this Lenten season with the service of repentance. As usual, soup suppers and Lenten services will happen each week until Holy Week. The theme of the Lenten services will be “Seasons of Change” as series on dealing with the many changes that happen in our lives. Each service will conclude with a healing service.
